A Pretoria man was killed and two friends were seriously injured when a gang of armed robbers attacked them while they were enjoying a braai on a smallholding east of the city.

Gerhard van Jaarsveld was visiting friends Elrene Jones and her boyfriend Rudolph Terblanche at their home in Libertas Street, Equestria, on Friday night when they were attacked.

The gunmen gained access to the property by cutting a hole in a perimeter fence. They overpowered the three and dragged them into the house where they opened fire as the terrified friends begged and fought for their lives.

Van Jaarsveld was shot in the head and died. Terblanche was shot in the neck and Jones was shot in the shoulder and the ankle. They are both in the Wilgers Hospital.

One of the robbers was apparently also shot.

The attack took place less than a kilometre from where German pensioner Ute Maria Wiing, 70, was found murdered in her Libertas Street home at the luxury Silver Mists security estate three weeks ago.

Seven people, including a security guard, have been arrested in connection with Wiing’s murder.

Shocked tenants said yesterday the three had pleaded for their lives and for the gunmen to take whatever they wanted.

“They simply would not listen. They shot them at point-blank range. They thought nothing about killing them,” said a tenant, Riaan Talma.

Talma, who was at a friend’s house nearby at the time of the attack, said a struggle had broken out.

“I cannot understand it. I don’t know why they would do this. From what I have heard, the three were pleading and begging with their attackers not to kill them.

“They offered them everything in the house, but they would not listen. They just shot them and then took what they wanted,” he said.

Talma said it appeared as though the robbers had escaped with two cellphones and some household electrical appliances.

Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Ben Strydom confirmed the attack and said the gunmen had escaped with a TV, computers, cellphones and a hi-fi system.

He said it was not known why the gunmen had opened fire on their victims, who, he said, were having a braai at the time.

“Police on the scene established that one of the gunmen was wounded after they found a blood trail which led into an open field opposite the house.

“Unfortunately, police were unable to find the suspects and they escaped,” he said.

Strydom said the gunmen had forced their way on to the property after they cut a hole in the perimeter fence.

Wilgers Hospital spokesperson Ineke Jonker said both Jones and Terblanche were in a stable condition.

“Jones underwent surgery on Saturday night to remove the bullet from her leg, while Terblanche is recovering in the high care unit.

Anyone with information on the identity or whereabouts of the killers can phone Captain Samuel Rikhotso of the Mamelodi Trio Task Team at 082 465 7354.

“Ek dink ’n lewe is meer werd as ’n bietjie sake.”

Me.

“Daar by ons is dit (’n skietery tydens ’n rooftog) ongehoord.

Mnr.

“Hulle het na my ma toe gegaan en gevra: ‘Where is the bag, where is the bag?’

Mnr.

Me. Aveline Hardaker, polisiewoordvoerder, het die voorval bevestig.

Cops storm wrong house

Marius Claassen recounts how a group of policemen stormed his house in the middle of the night. (Amanda Roestoff, Beeld)

Johannesburg – About ten men in police uniforms carrying R5 assault rifles and service weapons broke open a sliding door at a family home in Roodepoort shortly after midnight on Tuesday, insisting on searching the premises.

The home owner, Marius Claassen, 41, insisted on seeing a warrant. “Then they only said: ‘Oooeeeee… but it’s the wrong house’ and drove off.”t

Claassen, manager of the Ciao Baby Cucina, a restaurant in the Clearwater shopping centre, said a noise outside his house in Florida woke him shortly after midnight.

A black Volkswagen microbus and a sedan car with about ten police officers rushed at Claassen’s property on the corner of West Lane and The Highway. “They hammered on the door and insisted that I opened up.”

Broke lock

While Claassen looked for the key, the men presumably became impatient and “perhaps thought something was being hidden”. The next moment they broke the lock on the sliding door and pulled the door open.

Claassen said the men wanted to know why he took so long to open the door.

“I explained that they knew the circumstances under which we lived in the country… Wouldn’t a reasonable man also be cautious about opening up?

“A big, fat man in civilian clothes”, apparently a commanding officer of an intelligence unit, then said they were busy “looking for criminals” and had been given Claassen’s address.

Claassen said they wouldn’t reveal which police station they worked at, and would not give their rank or names.

One or two police IDs were shown to him but he couldn’t see in the dark if they were authentic.

“They even wanted to know if someone was at home during the day. What business is that of theirs?”

“First the ‘officer’ joked about how I shouldn’t worry that they would look at my wife’s ‘golo’ (Zulu for a woman’s private parts).”

Claassen’s wife Michelle, 39, called the police’s 10111 emergency number from the bedroom.

Their children, Sabrina, 12, and Joshua, 7, were in their rooms.

“Police have still not arrived,” said Claassen.

When the men insisted on searching the house, Claassen insisted on seeing a warrant. That is when they apparently suddenly realised they were at the wrong house.

Claassen said none of their cars had number plates.

Trauma counselling

His daughter had to receive trauma counselling on Tuesday due to the incident.

Florida police station spokesperson Captain Lydia Mtila-Dikolomela confirmed on Tuesday that an emergency call had been received from Claassen’s wife after midnight.

“According to notes, the charge was referred to the Florida police station at about 00:08 from 10111. A police official reacted to it at 00:09.”

The official who had according to police reacted to the charge by going to the house could not be found by late on Tuesday.

Florida police indicated that other units sometimes worked in their policing area.

Slegs drie selfone is gebuit.

Mnr.

“Toe ek terugdraai, besef ek daar is iemand anders (as mev.

My kind het alles gesien.”

Mev.

Me.

Slagoffer van huisrooftog dink man is dood toe hy ophou kla

2010-06-09 23:17
Hilda Fourie

(afg.)

“Ek het gegil… so hard gegil dat my buurvrou my blykbaar gehoor het.

“Die worsteling en marteling het toe begin.”

Volgens mev.

“My man het opgehou kla.

[Videos] Jewish activist Avigdor Eskin: the Afrikaners need our help

Thursday, 10 June 2010
By Adriana Stuijt of Censor Bugbear Reports.

Videos by Jewish-Russian activist Avigdor Eskin, who supports the Afrikaner freedom struggle.

Russian-Jewish activist Avigdor Eskin of Jerusalem has given his wholehearted support to the Afrikaner/Boer freedom struggle, and has made three videos this week in which he calls on his fellow-Jews worldwide to help the Afrikaners from the besieged situation they now find themselves in.

Eskin is a Russian-Israeli conservative intellectual/activist. Born in the old Soviet Union, Eskin emigrated to Israel where he became involved in political activity. Eskin was raised in an assimilated Jewish family. He studied piano in the famous Gnesin college. Eskin was the youngest Hebrew teacher in Russia; teaching it from the age of 15. He emigrated to Israel in January 1979.

He said: “The Afrikaner people have always been our friends. They are now being murdered, mutilated and raped.” He also noted that like the Israeli Jews, the Afrikaners “also have no place to flee to, and this is their secret weapon: they will win despite all the overwhelming odds.”

Why should the Afrikaners have to face genocidal conditions?

In his third video-message to the Afrikaner people on June 10 2010 , Eskin asked:

“People can’t go on living like this. Why should the Afrikaners have to face genocidal conditions, and with some 600,000 of the 3-million Afrikaners already living in dismal homeless conditions in South Africa under an ANC government? This cannot go on like this. Fifty-thousand white people have already been murdered by black people in the past fifteen years and many black people have suffered equally under the ANC-government.

“As it says in the Book of Proverbs, a slave cannot be a king. And this is what God told us to do, to be humane and keep the Commandments, my message to the Afrikaners is very clear. You are the chosen people, you are going to win, but it is going to be tough. I will help in any way I can. Take the Bible in one hand and have faith”

He also had a message for SA president Jacob Zuma namely that he “must ask forgiveness from the whole nation. He must be honest, and say “we tried to run the country, we made a mistake, we can’t do it”.” Eskin said under the ANC government, 174,000 people have already been murdered, of whom 50,000 were white South Africans, including more than 3,600 Afrikaner farmers. “What is more important here?”, he asks. “Slogans about democracy, or human lives? It is time when we say, “enough is enough”. I want to tell the government of the ANC that they should go to church and ask for forgiveness.”

The Afrikaners have always helped the Jews in our times of greatest need, now it’s Israel’s turn.

On is first video, below, he said many Jews felt with him that the State of Israel had the privilege of having befriended South Africa during apartheid. He’d met General Hendrik van den Bergh (who headed the bureau of state security, Boss) Eskin described Van den Bergh as “a man of great dignity and faith.” At a time when our people were being turned away by many countries during the holocaust, South Africa opened up its gates to many refugees from the Holocaust,” he said.

“I had the privilege of being a friend of South Africa until Mandela took over the country. I’ve never met a people like the Afrikaners, so honest and with so much love for Israel,” he said.

“The Afrikaners were forced into the referendum-vote by foreign powers who had convinced F W de Klerk to do so”, he said. “And now we in Israel have nothing but enemies in Pretoria, that government now has become friends with Hammas and the many other enemies of Israel.”

“It is also inconceivable what is going on with the Afrikaners now. During apartheid the average life expectancy was 64. Now it’s 32. Life was so much better for all the people of South Africa during apartheid than thereafter. The Afrikaners were much more humane, BUT today they will have to be much less humane to regain their power, yet it must be done. Over 3,000 Boer farmers already killed, so many people killed on the streets each day, don’t tell me these (murders) don’t have a racial flavour.”

“I did foresee and I did warn that the 1994-referendum and the dismantling of the apartheid system would be disastrous for the Afrikaners.”

“But now we can help them and we have the capability of becoming allies again. Let’s sit down and see how we can regain justice and righteousness. I love you and I want to help you.” “God bless you.”

Who is he?

Eskin is Russian-Israeli conservative intellectural/activist. Born in the Soviet Union, Eskin emigrated to Israel where he became involved in political activity, both legal and illegal. Eskin was raised in an assimilated Jewish family. He studued piano in the famous Gnesin college. Eskin was the younest Hebrew teacher in Russia since the age of 15. He emigrated to Israel in January 1979.

Eskin became famous in 1995 when he allegedly laid a Pulsa diNura death curse on Prime Minister Yitzak Rabin in response to the Oslo Accords. The Pulsa diNura is believed generally to “work” within thirty days, and it was thirty-two days after Eskin’s curse that Rabin was assassinated by Yigal Amir. As a result, in 1997 Eskin was sentenced to four months in prison for incitement. It was later revealed that the Torah scrolls used in the ceremony were in fact empty and had been staged for the cameras.

Eskin continued his activities in association with the Russian Political traditionalist Alexander Dugin.

In May, 2005 Eskin won a slander case that he filed against Barry Chamish.[1] Currently Avigdor Eskin continues his struggle on behalf of Israel. His numerous articles in Russian are held as the best written today.
